Larry Lasater Park, in the City of Pittsburg, is 10 acres in size (includes 7 acres of detention basin, not shown) and is part of 40 acres of park and open space improvements, linking the various neighborhoods of the 800-unit San Marco Community. The site of the park is adjacent to an elementary school at the intersection of Santa Teresa Drive and Rancho Bernado. The park has a multi-use sports field encircled by a walking/jogging path. There are picnic areas with barbecue grills, park benches, bike racks and a turf lawn amphitheater with stage. Playground equipment for ages 2-5 anchors a tot-lot which completes the objective of meeting surrounding community needs while complementing the elementary school’s facilities. Passive recreational uses are complemented by several acres of naturalized open space. Construction of the park was completed in May of 2007.
