Maiden Lane - San Francisco

 

Lined with an astonishing variety of shops, art galleries, salons, eateries, and offices, Maiden Lane provides San Francisco with one of its most distinctive urban shopping experiences. The two blocks that are Maiden Lane also provide an important physical and visual link to Union Square. With the Westin St. Francis Hotel facade as a backdrop, the Dewey Monument at the center of Union Square is a highly visible landmark from the entire length of Maiden Lane. Maiden Lane was in need of a design solution worthy of the vital role it plays in one of the world’s best-known fashion and retail districts. We volunteered to work with the Union Square Business Improvement District and the Maiden Lane Design Committee to create a preliminary design for a new Maiden Lane.
