VAF - Villages at Fairfield - Neighborhood Park Concept

A major new community has been building for many years, located in Northeast Fairfield, California. Several Villages, each containing neighborhoods, streets and parks have emerged. MD Fotheringham assisted Lewis, and AD Seeno on many phases of the VAF Villages over a five-year period, including working with the City of Fairfield on the design for this first
Neighborhood Park, and the two-mile-long linear park, constructed within the State of California Department of Water Resources right-a-way, the boundaries of which contain an underground segment of the California Water Project Aqueduct. The program for this Neighborhood Park includes community center, play structures in two tot lots, pickleball courts, futsal courts, half court basketball, and a skate park with several skate challenge structures. There are play fields for soccer, football and lacrosse, and two bio-retention basin wetlands, designed to capture and store runoff from homes and streets north of the Park.
